Around Lake Geneva (Lausanne, Montreux, and Evian)

For our time in Geneva we hired a Fiat Sedici to drive us around. With Marisa's constant reminder of "keep to the right!" we made progress in driving around Lake Geneva.

We were blessed with beautiful weather for us to take full advantage of the French Riviera-esque mansions/chateaus overlooking the Alps. Each time we drove around a bend, we were once more enthralled with what seemed like the next frame of a movie.

Chamonix/Mont Blanc - Part 2

After the days skiing and with Marisa barely able to walk, we decided to tuck into some proper French grub. Escargot, French Onion Soup, Fromage.

I know that I should not be eating so full, but it just tastes too good to waste. Hmm, I wonder when I can get some running shoes to work some of this off.

Chamonix/Mont Blanc - Part 1

Chamonix/Mont Blanc is the most beautiful and scenic place in the world!

As we travel once more up the ski-lift, you take a deep breath and allow yourself to be immersed into the absolute grandeur of the Swiss and French alps around you.

Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas

As we near Christmas, all the festivities are starting up here in London. The sales, the music, the fun! We cannot wait until we jet off for our Christmas holidays in the French Alps!

Viva La France!

Yes, we finally visited the land of cheese, croissants, onion, and baguettes!

It was an amazing city that we definitely did not get enough of. Even though we did have a cheese overdose.. it was still oh so good!

Apart from the wofts of fromage in the cold Parisian air, there was the air of culture and love that was infectious even for the weekend that we were there.

We will be seeing you again Paris!

Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge

Another weekend comes by and another weekend of travelling. hehe

This weekend we hired a Ford Festiva to drive to Windsor to visit the Queen's residence, then to the picturesque town of Bath. Bath is beautiful! The cute boutique shops, the cobbled streets, the old style sweet shops and Roman architecture really brings a warmth to the body to cut through the winter chill.

Then of course, there is Stonehenge!

London Westfield and a bit of Jazz

We felt like we missed home a bit so we visited the largest retail shopping centre in Europe.. Westfield! I must say it is absolutely massive! All we need now is a car to drive and park there...hmmm...

There is also the London jazz festival around for the next week or so. We decided to chill for a while with some free jazz at the Barbican

1st day at work and 1st day at new abode

What a day!

It seems that we are always in limbo, craving that stability we had back at Sydney. Though, with the instability also comes excitement.

Today was my first day at work. What a nice surprise to be given 3 projects straight up with a deliverable by the end of the week! Talk about hit the ground running!

We also moved into our new place today that we will be residing in for the next 6 months. It is not too far from where we were staying previously, but at least we can now stop living from a suitcase.

To celebrate, we decided to have sweet & sour pork, BBQ pork, and roast soya chicken!

Haircut, Yum Cha & Von Haagens

To prepare for my first week of work in London, both of us went to finally get our hair cut at a Japanese hairdresser just off Baker St. I can now concentrate on work without having to constantly do the head flick to readjust the hair.

After hair cut we decided to fulfill our craving for some Yum Cha. Mmmm.. very yummy and definitely a place to recommend.

We then ventured to Greenwich to see Von Haagen's Bodyworlds exhibition at the O2 Areana. Some of you may have heard of Gunther Von Haagens, but for those who haven't he is a doctor that pioneered a method of preserving the human body. Unfortunately, we could not take pictures inside the exhibition, but it did provide a most intriguing insight to the human body and how diseases affect us. It was an eye opening experience to reiterate the fact that you have to look after your body and to cherish and enjoy life!

Woohoo! Got the job!

4:41pm on Friday I finally get the call from the recruiter.. " I got some good news, you got the job!"

It was a wonderful day chilling with Anton and Tiffany in London and to have the opportunity to celebrate with them at a quaint French restaurant at Covent Garden.

I guess we will be here for a while yet, please if you ever had the urge to visit Europe, do it now as we have some free accommodation if required.

We now have the headaches of finding a place to live.

Here we go again!

Our 1 month has just flown by here at our place, and we have to soon find another place to stay by the end of the week.

There are so many dependencies and uncertainties once more and I hope we can overcome this soon.

I have a 2nd interview for a job tomorrow morning, so wish me luck for that. If I attain that role we can finally look for a more permanent abode for at least 6 months to finally have some stability in life once more.

I think we just love making it interesting and pressured for ourselves or else it would not be so much fun.

Its a race against time!

As the subject suggests, it is a race against time to secure a job before we move out of our current residence at the end of next week. This week has been very promising with a lot more movement on the job front. Thanks for everyone's well wishes and I am sure that we will not come home soon to some people's delight.

Pictures above are us having an afternoon tea in Marylebone at a nice cafe called La Fromagerie. Mmm.. As the name suggests, they have a massive cheese room!
