Fashion in London is fantastic!

The different looks, styles and varieties of pieces here in London is great! Well, I guess since it is so close to Paris, Milan and not so far from New York, both men and women's fashion here is so gooood.... just wished I had a job so I can splurge...even Trent cant stop looking online.

Im not usually a Marc Jacobs fan, but can you tell me this isnt the cutest clutch for Vday?? *hint hint*

Hainanese Chicken Rice

I have previously attempted to make hainanese chicken rice, but the chicken cooking time was never quite right. This time was much better accompanied by fresh homemade chilli sauce. What do you think?

Happy Chinese New Year!

This chinese new year, we spent it quietly at home. We did go chinatown to see what the festivities was like, but I think Sydney's atmosphere is much better. We had traditional chinese new year dinner at Royal China (equivalent to Kam Fook back at home).

I also attempted to make Singaporean Pineapple Tart, I gave myself 1/10 for being edible!

Over a nice sunny Saturday in January...

We started out having coffee at Princi with Trent's old school friend. They freshly bake everything on site and the apple danish was yumyum..Mmmmmm...http://www.princi.it/

After, we decided to walk to Smithfield Markets only to find that they are either closed on the weekend or not open to the public at all! What a disappointment..but we found this...and seriously they had signs and arrows pointing to the exact place...hoho

Since the market was closed, we decided to take another long walk to the Tate Modern, but it wasnt really our cup of tea. Trent thinks it was tooo modern and we headed off to the borough markets for some weekly cheese and groceries shopping.

Antwerp, Brussels and brief stop @ Stella Artois!

Unfortunately, everything is closed on a Sunday, so we didnt get to shop or see very much. Such a disappointment on missing out diamondland!

We also didnt make reservation for the tour for the Stella Artois brewery...damn.. we will definately head back and do some taste testing!

Bruge

What started out as a rainy morning, it soon cleared up to a fine sunny day when we arrived in Bruge. We took a horse and carriage ride around the medieval town and stopped by many chocolatiers...MmmmMMmm..

Belgium

What do we normally associate with Belgium? Beer, waffles, mussels, and chocolate? Well we got to have 3 of the 4, definately will be back for the mussels!

As we ventured out in our VW Polo to explore the sites of Bruges, Antwerp, and Brussels.

First time cooking Venison and Chocolate Cake..MmmmMmm..

Last week was the first time I cooked Venison, pretty much like steak but probably gamier. Though, I slightly over cooked it as we like our meat rare, but never the less accompanied by blackberry sauce was a pretty alrite attempt!

As I try to bake something new every weekend, this week I made a moist chocolate cake from scratch.. no cake mix business and I believe Trent thinks it is very yum yum...MmMMmmm..

Fat Duck and El Bulli, here we come!!!

I thought getting a table at Fat Duck for end of Feb 09 was exciting. This morning an email from El Bulli's reservation team confirmed our table for 2 in August 2009! Now, that is surely the icing on the cake! After trying for 2 years and being rejected for 2009 season, I can't believe they actually allocated a table to us... I guess persistence does pay off...hohoho..

Attempt at Duck a'l Orange

Since we got a bargain on meats over at Borough Market on the weekend, I decided to attempt at making the traditional Duck a'l Orange...hmm...I have no idea if it is correct..anyone?

On Sunday, Trent roasted apricot and almond stuffed chicken wrapped with bacon - okay we bought it pre-marinated, but I did bake a lemon pound cake from scratch...

Roka

After some sale shopping on Saturday we walked to Charlotte St to try out Roka, sister restaurant of Zuma in Knightbridge. Residing across the road from Pied a Terre, we had hoped it lived up to expectations.

Surprisingly, it did! Tried several fusion dishes such as Foie Gras marinated with Umeshu accompanied by Nori bread, we were also shocked to find such fine quality O-Toro in london town! We were so busy eating we forgot to take pics. So I found some pics from other blogs.
