Hua Hin is a 2.5 - 3 hour drive south west of Bangkok. Hua Hin is also known as Thailand's royal beach resort as this is where the King of Thailand relaxes. Given this title, it must be good right! ... and yes it was! Long lazy days sipping cocktails on the beach and allowing yourself to sink into a subconscious meditation on the day bed. As the cool sea breeze comes in and the sun creeps towards the horizon beaming warm pastel hues it cues in the evening. Hua Hin has amazing seafood with its gigantic tiger prawns and the best tom "yum" ever! and that is a big statement. Not long enough, and have to now prepare for the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Wine Gathering - Henry's Kitchen

Time to farewell 2010 and welcome the 2011 new year. This calls for a celebration! As one of the guys knew the chef, we were able to design a menu that could match some of the great vins we had on offer. Highlight was the 1995 J.N.Gagnard Batard Montrachet. A wine that is beautiful from start to finish and just keeps developing into a soothing buttery warmth to honour the festive spirit. May there be many more wines in the new year as we venture back to the new world! Happy New Year to all!

Private Kitchen - TBLS, Soho, Hong Kong

It was hard to top the fun and frivolity of Disney, but we were able to do one better. From a bit of here-say, we booked ourselves into TBLS private kitchen located in the Soho area of Hong Kong. As with all private kitchens, this one was hidden away via in an old residential block and this one had the added glamour of an eau de urine smell in the lifts. As with all good things, there requires the journey and once overcoming the ominous signs of danger, the private kitchen opened up to its own oasis from the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. I would term the place "casual fine dining". The food was unexpectedly good, as it was the chefs manipulation/interpretation of everyday meals into dishes that edge towards the realms of haute cuisine except for the prices. Definitely one to recommend and one to visit again!
Disneyland, Hong Kong
The older you get, the more you reminisce of the simpler days that was heavily influenced by the characters of Disney. For the walk down memory lane, we ventured to Hong Kong Disney. With the slight hesitation, anxiousness of being overwhelmed with the stigmatized loud and ill mannered mainlanders, we mustered on into the world of happy music, candy canes, and the obligatory Mickey and Minnie mouse ears. After a thrifty visit to the attractions and rides, we exited Disney reflecting on whether we are too old for this s**t? or was it just Hong Kong Disney?

Merry Christmas!
Sorry for the lack of updates, Hong Kong to us isn't all that exciting. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will have more to post. Afterall, we are homeward bound! *super excited*
Xmas is my favourite holiday and this year was the most quiet and non-festive one I have ever experienced! Caught up with my cousins over yumcha and afternoon tea, but at least it was Trent's last day at work! Woohoo!
While it seems shopping in HK is always on sale, we decided to treat ourselves to new gadgets before we leave this side of the world.
My new and old toys!
